A few years ago, whilst praying, I saw a picture in my mind's eye of a giant sword being planted in the ground on Parliament Square. It was huge, and towered over the Houses of Parliament!

I knew exactly what it meant. It was the Sword of the Spirit, the word of God. I immediately sensed that The Lord was calling for His word, the Bible, to be read out loud over our Government and Nation.

‘Truth To Power’ is about seeing that vision fulfilled.

It’s about seeing the local church rise up and engage practically and prophetically with the realities, both political and spiritual, that are shaping the life our country. In Ephesians, Paul tells us that:

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
— Ephesians 6:12

This is about continuing that struggle, with the weapons of prayer and the word.

So our vision is that every day in 2018, at whatever time suits them, people will gather on Parliament Square to declare the scriptures for that day from 'The One Year Bible', about 20 minutes’ worth, before coming together to pray. All done in half an hour!

But we can’t do it alone, we need your help!

Get involved

So if you’d like to get involved, then simply book your date online with some friends, your small group, or your church.

Or better still, why not sponsor a day each month, eg. the 30th, and really get stuck in! Then just pitch up by yourself or with friends, whatever works for you.

Your Commitment

All we do ask, is that you take responsibility for your day(s) and if for some reason you can’t make it, that you find passionate replacements who can. And if you find the day you want is booked, then just feel free to join those there! More truth and prayer can only be a good thing...!

god's promise

We may not see the effects this has, but we can trust from God’s word that there’ll be some! And as we faithfully persevere, come rain or shine, we can hold onto God’s promise from 2 Chronicles 7:14 that:

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
— 2 Chronicles 7:14
